Welcome Knights to Northridge High School,

Northridge High School is one of the most unique high schools in the Davis School District. This distinction is nearly 30 years in the making.  As we approach our 30-year anniversary we ask all to celebrate who we are.

Our uniqueness is directly derived from the diverse communities in which we serve. Students from Clearfield, Clinton, Hill AFB, Layton, South Weber and Sunset all make up this place we refer to as “Ridge City”.  Our diverse communities separate us from the other high schools and ultimately make us stronger.

Like the Knights that our mascot is modeled after, at NHS we strive to behave by the “Knights Code”. Honor, Courage, Dependability, Respect, Excellence and Teamwork.  Along with a diploma, we want every Knight to leave Northridge with the “Knights Code” as a part of their character.

There are multiple opportunities to practice and strengthen this code.   At NHS students are encouraged to challenge themselves by taking one of over 20 AP or 40 CE courses.  Each of these types of classes not only fulfill graduation credit but apply to a students’ college credits as well.  Every student at NHS should explore these classes.  Its not only a great opportunity to practice the “Knights Code”, but also is an entry level opportunity to sample college level curriculum.

In addition to college courses, NHS has a great variety of CTE Career Pathways.  These pathway completions provide students industry skills training and can include further educational and career opportunities.  Our CTE pathways include Health Sciences, Consumer Science, Culinary Arts, Child Development, Business, Marketing, Automotive, Information Technology and Engineering.

NHS also offers many extracurricular opportunities.  Those include over 20 UHSAA sanctioned activities, 6 Career and Technical Service Organizations (CTSO’s) and many clubs.  These extracurricular activities provide the opportunities for NHS students to serve, compete, work hard with peers, make lifelong friendships and represent “Ridge City” with pride.  Like our academic opportunities, we encourage every Knight to get involved and build up their “Knight Code” and others.

This year’s theme, as created by student leaders is “Reign as One”.  In the wake of the pandemic and the many school disruptions it created, we ask all of Ridge City to embrace this theme.  Northridge High School has a diverse advantage that many schools do not.  I encourage every student, staff and community member to contribute in your own way in lighting the fire of NHS excitement.

On behalf of the Northridge administration, teachers and staff we welcome all of you to Northridge High School.  Excitement, challenge, opportunity, friendship and success awaits!
