Wasatch Elementary -

🎃 Join us for a spooktacular Trunk or Treat at Wasatch Elementary on Friday, October 24, from 5:30–6:30 PM! 👻 This free family event includes a fun costume contest and treats passed out by our amazing teachers and staff. 🍬 Please donate candy/goodies to the office, and remember—school-appropriate costumes only, no masks allowed! 🦇 This event is for Wasatch Elementary families only.

Our desks may be small, but our hearts are bursting with love for our students!

Kindergarten students joyfully explore music through movement, using scarves to follow directions and respond musically to a song. This arts-integrated lesson is part of an 8-week internship experience through Weber State University, in partnership with the Arts Learning Collaborative, Davis School District, and BTS Arts. Pre-service teachers gain hands-on experience in elementary music classrooms, working alongside seasoned educators to bring creativity and collaboration to life.

Our Student Council, and amazing advisor Ms. Brooke, attended the Clearfield High School Student Council Conference today and learned some amazing leadership skills!! Thanks Falcons for helping our Eagles SOAR!

Our 4th graders are ready to be water protectors after learning how storm drains affect local ecosystems!

This Shout Out is for Mrs. Hansen and Ms. T - "Mrs. Hansen and Ms. T Are an amazing team and care about their students. My little second grader was having a hard time and became emotional with changes that were happening in his classroom. They took the time to talk to my student and comfort him and this ment the world as a parent! We love these sweet ladies! 💕"

We received another Staff Shout Out! Please keep them coming!! This one is for Mrs Leavitt. "Mrs. Leavitt's love goes far beyond just the classroom. It doesn't matter if you have a current student, past student, or you don't even have a student in her classroom at all, she cares about everyone she meets. She reaches out on a personal level to make sure all know that they are important and valued. She's not only a fabulous teacher in the classroom but outside of it as well. She teaches not only her students but their parents as well and fights for every individual who walks in her classroom. The past year has been difficult for her but you would never know with how amazing and on top of it she is. While some challenges may hold others back, for Mrs. Leavitt, it pushes her forward even more and pushes her to be better for her students.

Thanks for all the Staff Shout Outs! We really do have the best of the best. Today the Shout Out is for Mrs. Waite. "She has been putting in so much time and effort to make her lessons engaging and meet her student needs. She cares so much for these kids and I watch her give so much of herself to them. As she is creating lesson plans and matching them to each grade curriculum, the kids love music and she is getting so many concepts across!"

Students having a blast playing Gaga Ball and showing great sportsmanship on a sunny day!

2nd grade had a visit from the Living Planet Aquarium to learn about habitats and the rainforest. They learned about the different levels of the rainforest and which types of animals live there as well as how plants grow throughout it. They also got to meet two animals that come from the rainforest: a ball python and an African millipede.

We received another Staff Shout Out - this time about Mrs. Lorenzo - "We went to Ms. Lorenzo with concerns about how our child was doing. She gave us additional tools and even simply switched out the pencil for a mechanical one and it has made all the difference. She helped us understand testing that has been going on and gave us tips on how we can help our student progress more moving forward to help them be successful. We truly appreciate the individual help to keep our daughter moving forward." This week Wasatch hosted our first Pizza with the Principals of the year. Every month, there is a new character trait that is taught, and a proficiency scale given, so students know exactly what that trait looks like at school. These students were selected by their teacher for displaying the trait of Empathy throughout the month and we celebrated them for that accomplishment! Way to go Eagles! #OneDreamOneTeam!

We received another Staff Shout Out - this time about Mrs. Westwood - "Mrs. Westwood is truly exceptional! Always willing to stay late to support families and answer calls after hours. She handles every concern with compassion and timeliness and is requested by name!"

With the first of October quickly approaching, this is another reminder about free and reduced lunch. All families should know that if they have not applied this year, their student(s) will no longer qualify beginning Oct 1st. This application has to be completed each year to qualify. Not only does this help your child with meals, but helps our school with funding. Please apply if you have not done so yet!
